The Most Beautiful Day

The most beautiful day for me was the day that I went back to Thailand for my first time in 10 years. The plane arrived in Bangkok International Airport almost midnight but I still awake. It may be that I am so exciting to visit my homeland or it may still only noon time in USA.

As soon as I step on to the ground, my eyes were tearing up and feel very warmth. Along the ways from the airport to my brother‘s condominium is very interesting. There are many railways pararel with the streets. I am not surprise that they are so many of this because I have heard about this project before I left Thailand 10 years ago. Thai government builds these entire railways to resolve the traffic problem. The next morning I still see the same traffic problem which I saw 10 years ago. All cars still jam on the streets, the air pollution still exist. I just wonder if the railways are the solution for the traffic jam or not. But anyway, at least I was there at my mother land.

WAI

‘Wai’ is the most common way to say Hello in Thailand. ‘Wai’ is the gesture that you put your hands together like a lotus. There are three degrees of ‘Wai’ depending on who you want to say hello to.

First, there is a way to give ‘Wai’ to people younger than you. You can do this by putting your hand by you chest and nodding your head.

Secondly, there is a different gesture to giving ‘Wai’ to people older than you. This way you put your hand by your nose and nod your head.

Lastly, you have to give ‘Wai’ to the monks. You show the respect to the monk by putting your hand above your forehead and nodding your head.

However, your can give ‘Wai’ friends the same way as you do to the younger.
